Duties And Responsibilities:

Report to the Quality Manager on all aspects of Quality Assurance

Develop, produce and update Manufacturing Instructions (Layouts) and ensure good product quality and repeatability in production.

Create, update and maintain Quality Plans, PPAP & FAIR documentation (using information from various sources e.g. Quality Concerns, Customer Rejects, suppliers, NPI etc.)

In conjunction with the Technical Department, ensure that all stages of the NPI/APQP process are completed and communicated in accordance with the NPI plan.

Attend / Organise Contract Reviews as required.

Calibration control

Ensure product / process sign-off and manage hand-over from projects to current parts production.

Deputise for Quality Manager when required.

Manage department on general daily duties including engineers’ allocation for non-scheduled activities, including decision making on quality related matters.

Carry out internal and supplier audits in line with schedule.

Assist in continuous improvement activities, from Management Review and/or results of QA analysis on product / process effectiveness.

Key Competencies:

Knowledge and experience in APQP / PPAP / FAIR

Knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF16949 / EN9100 / ISO 14001

Good Time Management

Excellent communication skills and commercial awareness

Lean manufacturing and six-sigma techniques, DMAIC, SPC, failure analysis, root cause analysis Familiarity with the principles of Experimental Design. (Advantage)

Project Management experience.

Should have good understanding Geometrical dimensions & Tolerances.

Should have good understanding of engineering component drawings.

Competent with standard measuring equipment – Vernier’s, micrometres, shadowgraphs.

Able to use Microsoft office
