Job Title: Production Administrator
Location: Wolverhampton WV10
Reports To: Production/Warehouse Supervisor
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 7:30am – 1:00pm

Contract Information:

This role will start on a temporary basis for 12 weeks, during which time you will be payrolled through Hariley Solutions, the recruitment agency.
Following successful completion of the 12-week period, the role will transition to a permanent contract directly with the company.

Please note: A DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.

Role Summary:

The Production Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Production Controller with managing work orders, coordinating subcontractor activities, and ensuring the smooth flow of materials in and out of the facility. You will handle booking in goods, despatching orders, updating production schedules, and maintaining accurate documentation. This is a fast-paced role requiring excellent organisational and communication skills to ensure deadlines are met and processes run efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Book in all incoming materials from suppliers promptly and accurately.
  • Despatch production and warehouse work orders in line with internal and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate daily transport runs and final despatch activities.
  • Manage both internal and external subcontractor orders, ensuring deadlines and costings are adhered to.
  • Maintain and update the Master Production Schedule.
  • Book in all production-related work orders.
  • Purchase and manage consumables (e.g., heat shrink, clinch studs, nuts).
  • Liaise with Account Managers regarding work orders and delivery updates.
  • Communicate subcontractor work order progress to the Sales Department.
  • Generate and correctly file all production documents.
  • Attend daily production meetings.
  • Propose continuous improvements to subcontract processes.
  • Confidently use Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Smarterm systems.

  • Good understanding of operations and production planning.
  • Experience managing subcontracted work.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Effective communicator with strong teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings from customers.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in an office or production administration environment.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Confident IT user with solid Microsoft Office skills.
  • Enthusiastic, driven, and eager to contribute to a successful team.
  • Understanding of supply chain processes and production flow.
