Accounts Assistant

Monday – Friday / Hours to Suit over 5 Days

£14 per hour (£21,840 per annum)

To assist Group Accountant Manager with monthly procedures including payroll, month-end, VAT and quarterly management reports across 11 companies.

Job Description:

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly management accounts & year-end financial statements
  • Complete purchase ledger reconciliations to financial accounting systems
  • Collate and submit VAT returns and prepare month end sales updates
  • Update cash collection target and submit for review and monitoring
  • Complete CIS and ONS returns completed
  • Submit invoices via Tradex
  • Analyse and post receipts and payments for monthly credit card statements
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management charges
  • Analyse and monitor monthly sales for customer rebates
  • Monitor and reconcile purchases for supplier rebates
  • Monitor monthly utility bills, comparing against current charges and readings
  • Monthly bank balance report
  • Any ad hoc duties as required

Requirements/ Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar role (essential)
  • Computer literate with strong experience of MS Excel and Word (essential)
  • Experience of SAGE 50 (essential)
  • Good working knowledge of accounts (preferred)
